What actually matters when buying. Everyone asks about redtop vs blacktop. The more important question is what comes with the engine — a bare longblock with no ECU, harness, or MAF turns into a much more expensive project than the price tag suggests. The 240SX swap

The US-market 240SX came with the KA24DE — reliable, but naturally aspirated and heavy. The SR20DET was the factory engine in the Japanese equivalent, which is why it's the most common swap in the chassis. Mounts, crossmember, and driveshaft work is well documented and the aftermarket support is deep.

What you'll need beyond the engine: ECU, engine harness, MAF, intercooler piping, and a fuel setup that can keep up. Ask us what's included before you assume.

What's included

Configurations vary. Some units are engine and 5-speed with ECU, harness, and MAF; others are longblock only. Typical mileage for our JDM units is 35,000 to 55,000 miles. Ask and we'll send photos and the serial number of the exact engine before you commit.
